I picked up this Voigtländer Bessa at a local market for just 180 lei. It was in great condition and even had an old roll of film inside. Given Voigtländer’s reputation for building high-quality gear, I decided to take a chance—and I wasn’t disappointed.
After a good clean and a bit of adhesive for some peeling leather, the camera looked incredible. You’d barely guess it’s nearly 100 years old. This particular model features a Skopar lens and a Compur shutter, making it a little more special than many later versions.
The old film inside sadly didn’t yield any usable images, but the next rolls I shot with it turned out beautifully. It’s a piece of history that still performs well—a real testament to how well things were built back then.
