Ricoh FF-3 AF

I picked up this compact point-and-shoot for 30 lei, mostly because I liked its retro look—turns out, it was a great find. It’s my first point-and-shoot, and while I didn’t expect much, I soon discovered it’s actually a well-regarded model from the 1980s.

Built during Japan’s golden era of camera innovation, it features surprisingly advanced tech for its time—like subject distance detection with clever icons (person, group, mountain) and sharp, reliable autofocus. It’s solid, a bit noisy, but incredibly fun to shoot with. The 80s really produced some brilliantly engineered compact cameras, and this one definitely earns its place among them.
