Certo Certina

Believe it or not, this was the first film camera that I received. I received it from a friend who mentioned that he’d had it in his family for some time and that it was just in the attic and collecting dust.

Knowing nothing about film cameras, the plan was to put this little camera on a shelf as a decoration but then later in 2024, I began getting into film photography and finally decided to give this thing a shot (literally) in 2025! I was initially avoiding using it, because there’s really no control and I’m used to SLR cameras and being able to see what I’m shooting… However, over the course of my film journey, that has changed and now was a good time to try this camera with a sense of understanding what to expect and how to use it!

I’m actually pretty happy with the way some of these images came out. The camera is from 1966, an East-German affordable camera that has character, it’s super basic but that’s part of it’s charm!
