I picked up this Canon T70 at my local market, mainly because it looked to be in good condition and came with its original Canon flash. When I first tested the flash it appeared to be completely dead, but apparently all it needed was a good smack on the side because it immediately came back to life.
Released in 1984, the T70 is a 35mm SLR from Canon's T-series and uses the company's FD lens mount. It was a fairly modern camera for its time, with a large LCD display, push-button controls and motorised film advance and rewind, all packaged into a wonderfully blocky 1980s design.
I did not pay very much for it and, despite being quite different from many of the older mechanical cameras in my collection, I really like the way it looks and feels. It is also particularly significant for me as the first Canon film camera I have owned.
