I picked up this Nikon RF, a 35mm point-and-shoot from 1987, at a local market for about 50 lei, mainly because it came with a belt case that fits my Nikon L35AF perfectly. The camera itself felt like a bonus.
At first it did not seem particularly interesting and it even had a faulty sliding switch on the front, which acts as both the lens cover and the power switch. A friend convinced me to buy it anyway, even if it ended up being useful only for the case.
Once I got home I repaired the switch and decided to run a roll of film through it, not expecting anything special.
When the images came back I was genuinely surprised. Every frame was perfectly focused, even shots taken at night or in difficult backlit situations. For such a simple compact camera, the results were excellent.
It turned out to be a very solid and underrated Nikon compact.
