Hello all!
It’s been a few weeks since my last post, needless to say, I’ve been settling in at the new workplace.
I must say, it’s been really good, got to meet some great new people. It’s clear that I am going to be working with a great team in a great work environment! Everyone that I have met there, even support staff have been… well, very supportive! It’s always reassuring to know that even when bad things happen.. like losing your job completely unexpectedly due to the company closing down, it’s possible to emerge from such a mess in an even stronger position than before!
Miniature lesson: even when things kick you in the ass, you can always do better.. that applies to a LOT of things in life.
What Else?
Well, BIG news for me is that I FINALLY managed to purchase my new camera, oh yes.. For those who didn’t know, I’ve been using a D3100 since I started taking my photography seriously! The D3100 has served me very well indeed, it goes to show that you don’t need to spend an absolute fortune on a camera to get great results, you need to spend time learning about it, learn it inside and out, learn about lighting, best lenses for certain scenes etc… and then the results will be more than fine!

I am now the happy owner of a Nikon D7100! I thought about going FX (full frame) but I just can’t justify it yet, if you can see the results I am achieving with my D3100, I’m very certain the D7100 will do more than fine! The camera was released 3 years after the D3100 and with that came a whole bunch of additional features, but this is a much more equipped camera that’s going to catapult my photography forwards quite a bit.
Also invested in some new memory cards, battery grip, a new lens and a whole bunch of other stuff! It’s about time!
Also.. Something interesting happened.
So, I was just chilling a few days ago when a good friend of mine, Aura Lupascu (she’s a make up artist.. check her out here: https://www.facebook.com/AuraLupascuMUA/ ) wrote to me on Facebook, asking me, “Hey.. didn’t you take these pictures?”
So, I had a quick look at the photo she sent me, I was quite shocked, but equally delighted to see that one of the shoots I had taken last year was now being used in a Lingerie store in Cluj-Napoca’s Iulus Mall!
Well, I just had to go and check it out.. mainly because I don’t think I’ve ever had my work printed to the size they were displaying it at, and wanted to see how good it looked.
Bearing in mind these were taken on my lovely D3100.. they didn’t come out bad at all
I was also happy to see that the images had fount their way onto the website too! I’m not sure how long the images will remain there, so I won’t put a link to the exact pages.. but feel free to check out their site here: http://laceworld.ro/
I mean.. the sort of clothing wouldn’t suit me too well, but it looks like they have a lot of great merchandise in there, if anyone want’s to have a session with items from this store, maybe there could be some room for collaboration! But I’ll be honest and say, recently the Boudoir shoots have been picking up and becoming more popular, I have some great sessions that I’m still working through now!
If you haven’t already, you should go across and check out my new page, www.facebook.com/aaronlroberts.ro as I will upload my shoots there, as well as my ALR Photography page.
A lot of great things have happened over the past few weeks, also a great photo shoot up in the tower of one of Cluj-Napoca’s most recognisable landmarks, St Michael’s Church (Biserica Sfântul Mihail).
I got to work once again, with the beautiful and forever inspiring Sorina. The thing I love about working with her is that she always has some great ideas, we seem to work great together and I’m sure that we will continue to have a great time creating some beautiful photos for all you lovely people to look at!
Check out the shoot below!
For the rest of the images, check out my pages or my direct websites! (hit the little menu button at the top of the page and there are some links!)
So, that’s about it for now! I will surely have some more great news as time goes on!
Thanks a lot for reading :)! Take care of yourselves!
