I picked up this Revue 700 EL at my local market, largely because it was a rangefinder. I generally try to stick to the major camera manufacturers and this is the only Revue camera I own, but the rangefinder image was surprisingly bright and clear and everything appeared to be working well.
Released in 1978, the Revue 700 EL is a compact 35mm rangefinder sold by the German retailer Foto-Quelle and manufactured in Japan by Chinon. It features a fixed Revuetar 38mm f/2.7 lens and automatic exposure, making it a relatively simple camera to pick up and use.
Not long after buying it, the exposure meter stopped working. After spending some time working on the camera I eventually managed to bring it back to life, although I am still not entirely sure what I actually did to fix it.
It is an unusual addition to my collection and probably not a camera I would have bought had it not been a rangefinder, but that is exactly what made it interesting enough to take home.
